I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for visiting gaijin-gunpla.com. Please feel free to enjoy all the Gunpla related content I can stuff in here.
I’m a Canadian who has found himself living in Japan after deciding that in order to take my pursuit of Japanese martial arts seriously I needed to be in its native land. A few years into my life here in Japan I started working for a company known as Hobbylink Japan. It was there I first encountered the Gundam kit and after watching hundreds of them being shipped out around the world daily curiousity got the best of me and I decided to try one out for myself.
That was several years and dozens of kits ago and I have found myself becoming more and more involved with Gunpla and the community that surrounds it. Through this site I hope to share that sense of community, and a bunch of cool looking Gunpla, with people who like them just as much, or if not more, than I do.
I’m not an expert modeler and am still working on my skills when it comes to working with and shaping plastic. My aim is to show beginner and not-quite-so-beginner modelers that you can produce a great looking kit with spray paint cans and some careful attention. If you have a Gundam kit you want others to see you can send me a mail and we can discuss putting it in the Reader Submission section.
I’d like to thank all those who helped with the development of this site, most of all my webmaster, Dr. T. He was the one who guided me through the design process, well, more correctly he did the design process, and also slapped my wrist when I started reaching for shiny, tacky things.
Thanks to Ryan S. for the banners found around the site, and to Hobbylink Japan which has supplied me with a lot of the kits you will find here.
