Gaijin Gunpla

How long have the legions of Gunplars raised their voices demanding a Leo?

I think for a long time.

And now here it is, in 1/144 HGAC form!

A rather basic grunt suit from a very popular anime is here in a very basic, yet popular grade. Everyone, the HGAC Leo

Now, it’s been some time since I’ve built an HG kit and the ones that I’m drawn to are usually the more complicated, larger kits. The Leo is on the opposite end of the HG spectrum. It should be quite simple, but I’m interested to see what Bandai has done with it given it’s part of the Gunpla Evolution Project.

Opening up the very thin box reveals two bags of runners.

Opening the bags you’ll have this to work with.

Seems simple enough. Let’s turn our attention to the manual.

Is this new?

Colours? The manual divides the parts of the Leo’s body and the corresponding parts of the runner by colour.

It does seem like they’re trying to group things together.

Though most kits are like this, we just aren’t told about it.

This is in colour, too.

You need to pay attention to that part.

With only a few runners and things grouped together to make it simple I suspect this build won’t take much time at…

Well, I’m done.

No TNT to fill all that armor? Lazy execution on Bandai’s part ^^

I am going to have to get a few of these. Hopefully Bandai will release some of the variations and other weapons.

  3. The thing I like about this is the absence of stickers. 😀

With the price, marketing, box art, and quickness of build, it’s fairly obvious to builders that this is meant for army building. I might do just that. Hope the fiancée won’t get mad. 😀

These things are limited to batches of six every where I go… good thing I bought from 4 different sites! 😀

Too bad for a Gunpla Evolution kit the price compromises some of the Leos articulation and design.
