Before I get into the newest HG, the HGCE Force Impulse Gundam (can we call it a Revive?), I’ll mention that we’re just over halfway through the month of June so there are less than two weeks left to enter this month’s Donate and Win Contest with the prize being the limited edition MG Star Build Strike Gundam (RG System Ver.). Thanks to everyone who has donated so far.
I first saw the HGCE Force Impulse at the Gunpla Expo last year. Well, more accurately, I saw its silhouette as it was hidden behind some glass. Lots of people were really excited when that was announced. I was as well, in a way, because I’ve not yet built the MG Force Impulse Gundam that is sitting in my closet but I really want to because it’s nearly the same as my beloved Sword Impulse Gundam and maybe this will either tide me over or get me off my ass to build the 1/100 version.
Box image looks great but they almost all do these days. What’s most important is what is under the lid. This kit also excites in that department.
A nicely sized frame runner sits aside the black runner with those large wings.
And two runners for the white parts.
And surprisingly quite a few smaller runners in this box.
This gave me hope that I wouldn’t be doing a lot of the colour areas with foil stickers.
Here are quick shots of the manual.
One of the coolest aspects of this kit is that you have the ability to make the Force Silhouette, the Core Splendor, the Leg Flyer, and the Chest Flyer.
That is pretty good for an HG kit and in some ways is perhaps better than trying to do it in MG where it becomes much more complex.
The big question is where do these runners come from. Will they be using parts from the earlier HG Force Impulse? I went through each runner in order to distinguish where they come from and I’m happy to report that they are all brand new. I can also report that they are all labeled HGCE198 Impulse Gundam. That means we are likely to see them again.
I’ll have this guy built soon.
