Some folks were lucky enough to get a 1/12 Boba Fett kit while others may have missed out. From here on out an even luckier few (a lucky fewer?) number of folks will be getting their hands on the new Bandai Star Wars kits including those from the upcoming movie, The Force Awakens. Posting about these kits may just spark some anger from some people who will miss out but I know a lot of people will be determined to get them and will have to decide if the price they are seeing them at is worth it for them. Hopefully, these kinds of posts help those who need to make that kind of decision.
Anyways, here’s Boba!
I didn’t realize all the details these Star Wars costumes had until I saw the included sticker sheets that come in the kit boxes.
Quick shots of the runners:
Check out the cape.
The head starts it off and there are quite a few parts here already.
That’s the face we will always recognise!
Really there’s not a lot of new here. The build is pretty much the same as other figure kits Bandai has put out so far for Star Wars like Darth, the three Troopers (storm, sand, and scout), and C-3PO.
Of course, not everything is the same.
Boba has separate armour plates that need to go on.
Boba’s foot is slightly differently shaped, as well.
When you’re building the leg you have to worry about these small parts on the knee.
Man, they are small.
Both knees have them but they are not the same on both knees. That almost reads like a riddle or something.
Tools and such for his belt.
Shoulders and arms.
The right arm features a little wire/hose piece that you’ll need to be mindful of.
When you go to attach the arms to the torso you first have to put on some, well, what are these? Tassles? Decorations? Ropes he carries around?
They fit in this slot and will stay in place when moving the arm around.
He’s got that cool rocket pack, too. This is gets him in trouble in Jedi.
And here are his firearms.
The base you get is the standard one but you’ll need this piece for Boba as the pieces found in other kits won’t fit the Fett’s foot.
You’re given extra hands which is a good thing because I think I’ll be using them mostly. I don’t really like the look of the fist hands he comes with.
The blaster fits into the holster and the little strap holds it in there solidly.
Here are those knee details I mentioned.
I like this weapon the most.
You don’t need to be worried about that little hose on his arm when you bend his elbow.
He’s now ready to go hunt down someone…
I still have to add the stickers but I held off on doing so for now because I just don’t like how clean he looks. He needs to be roughed up a bit with some minor scratches and damage. I’ll be doing that while I apply the stickers so for now here’s some larger images of how he is Out of the Box.
