Gaijin Gunpla

Okay, I did it. Guilty. I picked up the 1/100 MG ReZEL C (Defenser a+b Unit) despite stating I would stay away from it. That was my intention, anyways, but when the kit released and I saw that massive box filled with plastic I caved. Despite not being fond of transforming MGs I do kind of have a soft spot for the ReZEL and while I didn’t pick up the RGZ-95 ReZEL Commander that was mostly because the colors were exactly the same and I was in the middle of working on my 1/100 MG RGZ-95 ReZEL and turning it into Ironman. Actually, it was the Ironman project that made me want to do another ReZEL at some point in the future. I felt that by turning it into the Ironman ReZEL that I was missing out on playing with a great kit. Well, when that ReZEL C came out and I saw that box art…

I figured it was a good time to go a-ReZEL-ling. I mean, just look at this thing.

As I’ve already built and showed the construction of an MG ReZEL I only need to highlight the differences I discovered while building it. And while I have only built the Mobile Suit portion of this kit (see pic on facebook) I’ve already encountered differences such as the main torso frame part.

Here’s the one that was used on the original MG ReZEL (and is found on the runner for the Type C).

And here’s the one that is used on the Type C.

Actually, that’s the only difference between the kits until you get to the side skirts and backpack. The side skirts on the ReZEL Type C use parts found on these runners unique to the Type C.

So to connect the side skirts I assemble the little arms.

And then use these large frame parts.

And then grab some of the huge verniers from this new runner.

And I was happy to get reacquainted with the ReZEL elephant.

That’s all for my introduction to the Rezel C Type. Next post for this will be me assembling that massive backpack.

So if the las ReZel was Iron Man, is this one going to be War Machine?

The Rezelephant. A majestic murdering death machine.
