    Well done sir

Did you give the inner elbows the RG look or did it come with gold decals

I used Gundam Marker for that. I had wanted to try using brass rod but the pieces weren’t big enough to support what I had in mind.

      • Wow Syd, the colours look sharp! I’m thinking of getting an RX 78-2. which version would you suggest? RG/ MG Ver.ka/ MG OYW/ MG 2.0.

        Too many choices. LOL

Is there a way to figure out which paints to buy for certain kits? I just bought a HG 1/144 Wing Zero Custom and would like to keep the colors of the suit, but I know if I paint it could look much better and, perhaps more importantly, would cover up where I’ll have to sand, putty, etc. Also, do you know if domestic (to the US) brands of spray model paint work well on Gunpla? It would be a whole lot cheaper than having to pay shipping on Tamiya if I can just go to the store and pick up something from Testor’s or whatever they have at my local hobby store.

        Hi Tony,

Mech9 is probably the best place to go. They have translations/color guides for quite a lot of kits.

Gundam Beginner, after watching the original gundam series recently I too am looking at getting a RX78-2. Having had a look around its down to two choices. The MG OYW is very good and has a slightly more modern look about it with the extra panel lines and so forth. The RX78 2.0 is with a newer frame? (correct me if I’m wrong on this people!) and is more true to the anime in terms of its look. It probably has better articulation too it too.

I’m personally holding out to see what till be on sale at the HLJ Gundam sale, whenever that happens…>_>

    • Mike says:

I have both. The 2.0 definitly looks more anime accurate IMO than the OYW version and it’s also much more articulate.

On the other hand the OYW version has a lot more details.

    Great job, Sid! ^^

I have the old MG Rx-78 1.5 kit, the OYW version and the MG 2.0 kits, the 2.0 is a masterpiece of a MG and looking at this kit, its more of the same in a nice colour scheme.

  6. Hmm, thanks for the suggestions guys,

After a few thoughts, I short listed them into RG or MG OYW version or MG ver ka. These 3 have the most complex panel lines.

RG and MG OYW better in articulations, but ver ka really strikes me with just the looks. I’m still indecisive. =/
