The wonderful month of May has come and gone and I felt like it was a busier month than usual for me. Looking back, I managed to finish two kits. That’s a good feeling as in the not-so-distant past it was tough for me to finish one. Those two kits have their own galleries and are…
No Longer on the Work Table
1/144 RG MkII Titans
This kit turned out as great as I expected and just by taking the time with the supplied stickers (and a little extra ‘marking’ from me) it looks amazing. I’ve become an RG fanboy, now. You can check out the Titans S2 gallery here and, if you’re so inclined, follow the WIP here.
1/100 MG RX-0 Banshee
Maybe I didn’t get the color tone quite how I wanted it but those awesome Gold Decals make up for it. I really like the look this kit has, more so in the Unicorn Mode than the Destroy Mode. Those big weapons are pretty sweet, too.
With those two out of the way I can talk about projects that I have on the go. Some are mid-build, while others are in the planning stages and some put aside for later.
On the Work Table
1/144 RG MkII AEUG
I love this kit and as I wrote here I’m having second thoughts on messing this guy up. It looks great with the markings and a top-coat on (my paintwork on the backpack and select armor pieces doesn’t hurt either) but I guess I should press forward. You can only grow by going outside your comfort zone.
1/100 MG Marasai
I liked this kit more than I originally thought I would so now I wanna give it some S2 love. I actually had a little does of inspiration while lying in bed one morning reluctant to get up. The way Marasai has that large head that seems to tilt downwards, with the top armor part of the head seeming to divide the mono-eye window into two segments, plus that large spike on its head that sweeps backwards and that snout of a nose, well, he reminded me of this guy.
Yup, that’s Sonic the Hedgehog and I think I am going to make a Sonic the Hedgehog Marasai. I be crazy.
1/100 MG Zaku Cannon
I’ve written about what I want to do with this guy here and that still is the plan but for a project this size I need a bit of time so what I’ve decided to do is while I have a week free of family near the end of August I will sit down and modify this guy. Or I’ll just play a lot of BF3.
Another work that is on the Work Table and in the middle of modifications…
1/100 MG Full Armor Unicorn Gundam Ver.Ka
I feel lazy showing this picture again. I have been tinkering with this, honestly. In fact, I have a draft of a post about what I’ve done so far saved waiting for a good time (meaning I’ve got nothing else to show) to post it, but rather than just be a tease and mention that I’ve done something I should at least show a picture, right?
I just noticed that I wrote this draft back in April. I should really get this post up.
Then there are kits I intend to get back to (no really) but have no solid plans yet. In other words…
Currently Under the Work Table
1/100 MG Duel Gundam Assault Shroud
I really want to get back to this kit but I fear it will be a while before I do so. I’m in the middle of building an MG Infinite Justice, looking to start working on the Sonic Marasai and muck up the RG AEUG. The Duel will have to continue to be patient, but I promise I’ll get to ya, buddy. Oh, ya, the MG Blitz comes out next month. Dang.
1/100 MG Gundam AGE-1 Titus
I have a paint scheme in mind for this. I was going to paint it to look like my old Toyota 4×4 truck. I loved that thing. It had a 5 speed manual transmission and a 327 Chevy V8 engine crammed inside. I would race Corvettes in that thing. That monster engine tore up that poor stock transmission and I had to say my goodbyes. But the color scheme was suweeet. If I can just find that picture I would show it here and you would all agree.
And after going to the Shizuoka Hobby Show and seeing the wonderful stuff on display there I have my eyes towards the future, aka…
Coming to the Work Table
1/144 RG ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam
I’m an RG addict now. After building the two MkII RGs Bandai has me hook, line, and sinker.
Another kit that looked great at the show was the MG Blitz.
But probably, and surprisingly even for myself, the kit I am most looking forward to is the 1/144 HGUC RGZ-95 ReZEL Defencer B Unit.
This kit looks like it will be a lot of fun. I was reminded by a good friend of mine that there will most probably be an MG version released in the near future but, you know what, I actually think I would prefer the HG version to play with. June is going to be busy for me. What about everyone else?
