Before I get started on WIP #2, some people had asked how the visor I painted had turned out. Well, I took a picture of it.
Much better than the supplied sticker.
This kit still is new territory for me which means I don’t know how runners are laid out, etc. so before I started on the next section I took out the runners I would need.
Started feeling like the PG Strike Freedom after digging through that box in search of the needed runners.
And right away, before I start assembling anything in this section, there’s a warning in the manual.
I really need to pay attention to what I’m doing here.
Can I construct something like that picture using these pieces?
I think so!
I’m starting to think that this might be an arm. With this frame built I tack on two armor pieces.
Check out the details on the armor pieces.
(this is the underside).
I’m already debating which technique to use for panel lines
Slap these things together:
Next I got to make a joint. Ya!
I’d been plodding along pretty well without thinking too much about what exactly the function was for what I was building. Of course, I could have just looked ahead in the manual to see what was what, but to be honest, I am actually enjoying being ignorant about what I am assembling. Everyone likes surprises, I suppose, providing they are the good kind.
See what I’m talking about? What is this?
Reaching the end of this section of the manual I end up with this thing.
The process is repeated a second time and then you have these.
So, Macross guys, what exactly do I have here?
I’ll be taking a bit of break from the Macross kit to work more on the Nobell but that shouldn’t take long so expect WIP#3 soon.
