Now let’s take a look at some of the work I did to this kit.
Here I have extended the rear center block for the skirt. It turned out nicely and doesn’t look out of place when viewed from the front.

The mechanisms in the foot were painted with Mr. Hobby Silver. Viewable from certain angles.

Here you can see the tiny piece of plastic I added to the arms near the elbows to cover up the hole which previously allowed you a view of the psychoframe.
Head on over to the gallery section and see the photos!

Man, I love that giant S2 sticker on the shield. The grey looks damn smooth and gives it a more military sort of feel to it than the normal bright white does. The decals on the backpack and rest of the kit's part turned out superb too, perhaps I'll have to look in to a wave set of decals for my next project. Can't wait to check the psychoframe photos out!

TBH I couldn't figure how the blue was going to work with the green but I'll be damned if you didn't execute that perfectly. LOVE the shield. I bow to your decal mastery.

What’s the difference between Mr Top Coat and Mr Super Clear????

    • syd says:

      Hi Ying,

I used the Gunze Mr. Hobby Super Clear UV Cut Flat topcoat. I don’t know what the other product you are referring to is.

      • Dennis says:

i’ve read somewhere that the UV cut topcoat sprays some white snowflaky substance on non-white surfaces, did this happen to you and on the decals? or i would assume that the person who was using it sprayed on a cold day that was why they have this white particle effect? thanks!

  8. Ying says:

    Hey Syd,
The product I was referring to is called Mr. Hobby Topcoat. I’ve seen it on the web but have no idea what the difference is.

  9. Sunny says:

@ying, different paint types require different top coats, if u use a certain combination your colors have a chance of running if the paint didn’t cure long enough. As a general rule of thumb Mr. Super Clear is used for oil based paint like enamel, and Mr. Hobby Topcoat is for acrylic and water based paints. Hope this makes thing clear.

Finally a clear answer. Thanks so much.
